The Brad & Colton Boardroom
Is This A Business?

A show in two recordings. Brad and I invent businesses for a friend we love, tag-team the pitch a week later, and if the secret votes match, we file the LLC by close of business.

How one episode works
1

The Friend. I walk Brad through someone I have always wanted to do a deal with: what they ran, what they are great at, why we love them. (First up, maybe: Preston. Built a successful gym. One of our best friends.)

2

The Boardroom Brainstorm. Just Brad and me. We invent 2-3 businesses we want to create prototypes from, all built for that friend.

3

The Tag-Team Pitch. The next week, second recording: our friend joins, and Brad and I tag-team the pitch. Three business models, full sell.

4

The Secret Vote. Dating-game rules. All three of us vote in secret: which one would you put $100 into? Only a unanimous match gets formed.

5

The Deal. The paperwork is already made up. $300 files the LLC, $100 each. Three partners by close of business.

The closer

Colton, on camera, meaning every word
To be clear: we all want to start this business. We will split it three ways, $100 each; the filing fee is $300; that is fine, we are in. But after this call, Brad and I do not really want to do any of the work. This might be our last call about the business. We keep our 1% each, and you can do whatever you want with the rest: make all the decisions, take all the money, fire people, go buy anything. The only things we are not responsible for are any debt, any liabilities, and anything illegal. The entire point of this LLC is that we are wildly not liable for anything you do at this business. Do we have a deal?
Tagline board

Working section, per Colton: react, steal, cross off.

  • Three partners, one real business. (Colton's seed)
  • Partners by close of business.
  • $100 each. 1% each. You run it.
  • The paperwork is already made up.
  • Secret ballots, real filing fees.
  • This might be our last call about the business.
  • Wildly not liable.
  • 98% yours. 100% real.
  • We loved you enough to form an entity.
  • The dating game, but the prize is an LLC.
  • We do the brainstorm. You do the business.
  • Do we have a deal?
Concept shelf, react to these too
  • Close-of-business countdown: a clock runs through recording two; the LLC files before it hits 5:00 PM.
  • The secret-ballot reveal: three envelopes, opened on camera, full dating-game staging.
  • The Brad Number: a running on-screen total of Brad's combined company value, starting from $0.
  • Episode titles are the long slangy domains Colton already owns, said out loud with the .com under his breath.
  • The signing: a notary walks in at minute 58 like it was always going to happen.
The domains, verified

Checked against the public registry on 2026-07-26, not from memory. Hover any line to hear the part they never catch on the call.

Six owned, confirmed at the registry. The short one is the company, the long ones are episode titles. You do not have to pick, they do different jobs. Seven more slangy phrasings were still unregistered as of the sweep.

Production budget for this page: $0.00. The $300 is spoken for.
Brad, one question: is this a business?
Is This A Business? / The Show · premise v0.4.0
Updated Mon / 2026-07-27 / 4:18 AM CT · Central Time, build time
Changelog v0.4.0: merged forward the two surviving pieces of the 7/26 build, the registry-verified domain list (six owned, with purchase timestamps) and the dropped-TLD rendering so the under-the-breath .com is visible on the page instead of only described on the concept shelf; added the short-is-the-company / long-are-episode-titles resolution. Nothing in the v0.3.0 premise changed. v0.3.0: two-recording structure (The Boardroom Brainstorm is just Brad and Colton; The Tag-Team Pitch lands the next week); the secret $100 vote with dating-game rules, unanimous match required; money model now $100 x 3 = $300 LLC with papers pre-made, equity stays 98/1/1; the closer speech added in Colton's words; the Their-move cards and the 51% bar give way to the vote; tagline board and concept shelf added. v0.2.0: winner build, Boardroom reframe, $3/$3/$193 model (retired same night). v0.1.1: em dash sweep, link-preview card, first deploy. v0.1.0: first 3x3 mockup.
